Today is Easter Sunday! It was filled with fun times and beautiful weather in the afternoon! The whole family engaged in different activities that we enjoy each Easter, but most importantly, we celebrated that quite a few years ago, Jesus rose from the dead! The church service was outside today, and it was a little chilly. That led to us bringing blankets and coats to church instead of our usual spring Easter dresses! It was a nice service with songs and Dad preached an eggcelent (get it?) sermon. I couldn't tell you what it was about though because the girls of the family helped out in children's worship! I do believe it included something about Essential Oils.
After the church service, we obviously had to take the traditional Easter pictures! This year we didn't have the whole family together, but we did get a few good ones in our nice outfits! Here's a peak:
Shortly after we took our Easter photographs, we all loaded into the blue van to go to the Gilbarte's house for brunch! Jack went straight to their house after church, so it was just the other 5 in the car. On the car ride over, we sang Christmas carols and danced! We also changed into our normal attire, as seen in this snapshot:
Once returning home, the family all had to do our part to prepare for guests! Mom did most of the cooking. Kayla and Sam cleaned the bathroom. Lucy prepared the fruit salad. Dad did a little of everything, including uploading the church service video. It was much warmer in the afternoon, and so Kayla and Lucy were able to play lacrosse together and spend time outside. We also had our black van towed away.
Around 4, the guests began to trickle in. We had the Holland's, Schmidt's, Briz's, and Ms. Sharon over. The adults had a nice time socializing and enjoying good food while the children and young adults spent the majority of the evening outside! It was quite eventful.
Overall, it was a very nice Easter complete with delicious food, time with family and friends, good weather, and a nice church service!
