Productive Times

 Today there was beautiful weather getting up into the 70s! Most of the family spent the majority of the day outside. Mom and Lucy went and got dirt so that we could begin our garden! Mom also got stain so that we can start fixing up our playground. Kayla, Sam, and Lucy spent quite a while scraping moss off, brushing away dirt and spiderwebs, scrubbing the wood with soap, and finally getting to stain the playground! It is already looking much better, and we hope to get a new top for it soon. 

In other news of the day, Jack had class as usual and then went over to the turf at VT. He will also be watching a basketball game later tonight. He really is enjoying the night life and coming home late.

Kayla went to cross country practice at the VT XC course. It was a very difficult workout in the extreme heat. Lucy also went to soccer practice this evening and is not yet home. Dad is coaching her team this year! I believe Jack is the assistant coach. Sam worked hard at unscrewing the rocks on our rock wall. 

That is about it for today's news, but tomorrow Mom, Sam, and Lucy are venturing down to Mimi and Pop's for a visit! It should be a blast.

    Jack is NOT Lucy's assistant. He made a commitment and has not participated in any of the games or practices. Jack hasn't lived up to his title but we love him anyway

Fancy Shmancy

  Today's Sunday started off like you would expect, with church! It was inside today but hopefully it will be outside again next week. Mom, Kayla, and Dad went to church in the morning and then the rest of the kids and Mom and Dad went in the afternoon.  For brunch, Mom made waffles. Waffles have begun to be a common Sunday brunch especially since Mom got a new waffle maker for Christmas that makes 2 at a time! For youth group at Belmont, it was "Fancy" night! That meant that everyone dressed up! It was lots of fun, at the beginning it was like a dance and the whole sanctuary was cleared and there were disco lights and music! It was a blast. The point of Fancy night was to talk about what's on the outside. The Pharisees had it all together and looked great on the outside, but on the inside, they didn't have the right view of Jesus and were hypocrites. Afterwards, Kayla went to Olive Garden with some of her friends! That was also a ton of fun. Here are some pics:

Saturdayyy

  Today the Briz's came over to hang out. They played pickleball, read Curious George, and had Kraft macaroni and cheese.  Sam and Lucy both had soccer games! Thankfully the rain held off until afterwards.  Jack was kind and helped carry a chair. Kayla ran and also went and borrowed a dress from Kenna.  Mom and Dad both went on a run before it got to hot. I must say, these blog posts aren't as eventful as they used to be. We have some exciting events coming up in the next week that will be more interesting!

Frigid Friday

Today was a peaceful day with a few events throughout. The temperature is very frigid for this time of year! It was in the 30s! It is also Good Friday and so we went to church for a short service with singing and some Bible reading.  Mom went to the store and ran a few errands. Sam is going to Luke's house for a sleepover tonight to celebrate Luke's birthday! Sam also played the Nintendo Switch today. Lucy enjoyed a peaceful day, played Sleeping Queens with Kayla, and did Bible study with Mom. Jack has a soccer game this evening. Kayla went to the old Blacksburg track to do a workout with Hannah in these frigid temperatures. Dad led the church service and then went to work.  Yesterday was April 1, otherwise known as "April Fools Day". Jack started off the day strong by filling Nathan's car with multiple bags of rice.
